Good morning, Monsters,
Level 3 has developed what people are calling “grabby-plants,” which sounds like a joke right up until one politely holds your boot in place. Around dusk, certain plants enter a brief active phase where vines tighten, roots shift, and leaves turn toward movement instead of light. No one’s been attacked, but several delvers have been paused, examined, and then let go, which is somehow worse. Current thinking blames a fungal influence altering plant behavior. It doesn’t make them clever, exactly, but it does make the town square feel less like a garden and more like something that’s started noticing who walks through it.

The Viva Journal
The Viva Battle-Royale Adventure Game Show
One of the experiments with the Game Show has been a set of Characters we’ve followed through three seasons of Viva. These seasons comprised a three act story for each of those characters.
This is the final season with these characters.
Their arcs conclude now.

Max Tumult | Max | Maximus Pain
As you’ve seen with other characters like Harland Sanders, aka Slaughterhouse, sometimes the trials of the Dungeon act as a release. A release from normal constraints of normal world duality. Good, evil? Pointless. You must survive, and that can mean being as brutal as you can be. Harland just went a step further and said, why not really enjoy it as well?
With Max Tumult however, we saw the birth of an artist.
There isn’t any way to paint this picture that isn’t…painful.
I don’t want to celebrate the deeds of this person, but let me say that if Ziggy Stardust met a Hellraiser Cenobite, we’d be in the area of the entity Max evolved into.
On one hand, yes, he’s taking demented to new levels. Is it art that he’s figured out how to magically bite off his own fingers and send them as magic missiles that bury themselves into his opponents and wait for his instruction to explode. You don’t want him to give you the Finger.
On the other hand, let’s just think about all the people that live small quiet lives doing a job that maybe excited them at first but never really challenges them to become more. Can we really….Ok sorry. I can’t keep that up.
The Dungeon is a traumatic place. Everyone is told blatantly that they will probably die in it. Those that participate…do so for their own reasons. And sometimes, real monsters are made. (Don’t worry, Maximus Pain will be staying here in the Dungeon.)
Viva La Monsters!
Hope to see you tonight at 9pm EST on Twitch.tv/theLichingHour for some Viva!
